Adham Hafez Company was established in 2003 by Adham Hafez, an experimental choreographer, sound artist, and PhD candidate in performance studies at NYU Tisch. The company creates work that combines choreography, installation, live visuals, music, and text. Its productions have been presented at MoMA PS1, Hebbel Am Ufer, and Cairo Opera House among other venues. It was awarded the first prize for choreography by the Cairo Opera House for its performance High Voltage. With a strong focus on research, the company created its outreach platform HaRaKa which investigates dance and performance history in the Arab world.
