Marwa Arsanios is an artist, filmmaker, and researcher who reconsiders the Middle Eastern politics of the mid-twentieth century from a contemporary perspective, with a particular focus on gender relations, urbanism, and industrialisation. She is a founding member of 98weeks, an artistic organization and project space that focuses on a new topic every 98 weeks. She has done residencies at the Arab Image Foundation, Tokyo Wonder Site, and the Jan Van Eyck Academie. She had several solo exhibitions, most recently at the Witte de With (2016), the Hammer Museum (2016), and Beirut Art Center (2017).
